When sourcing fabrics and patterns for the shop, I always have at the back of mind a vision of a finished garment, so you can imagine how many sewing plans I have and simply not enough hours in the day.
I had my eyes on Lenaline Patterns Ambre Blouse  for the last 6 months so i finally decided to make it when i received a delivery of 185gsm Linen in Ginger from Merchant & Mills.
Depending on how dramatic you want the sleeve to look, you can choose pretty much any fabric. I wanted something soft but also be able to hold the structure and showcase this amazing sleeve.
This is a PDF pattern and i did order A0 copy from Pattern Print Girl as i simply do not have any patience for assembling A4 printed patterns. But i have to say, there are only 7 pieces in this pattern, which adds up to 25 pages so its manageable if you are printing it at home on A4. Lovely Natasha from Pattern Print Girl has also added a sewn in ‘made in 2020’ label.
The only alteration i made, i shortened the front and back panels by 7cm. I am 5.4 (162cm) and i felt like otherwise it would have been little bit too long on me. 
The Lenaline Patterns instructions are clear and are accompanied with images. To note, this pattern does NOT include seam allowances so make sure you add them before you cut your fabric.
The blouse is styled as a buttoned up top, however i will wear it open with an Ogden type cami underneath, so its more like a lightweight jacket. This is the beauty of this pattern, it is so versatile depending on your fabric choice.
To make this blouse you will need 1.70m -1.85m of fabric, 6 or 7 buttons and fusing.
I dont have an overlocker so i have done French seams where possible. Was worried that it will be bit bulky for linen, but no issues, so French seam away!
I used matching Corozo buttons from Merchant and Mills, however when i pinned colourful pins, i really like the look of pink and yellow on this linen. This definitively inspired me to start sourcing more options of sustainable buttons in brighter colours.
