It’s time to get cosy! Autumn is here and that means it’s time for hot tea, snuggly blankets, and of course – your comfiest sets of pyjamas. Is there a better time of year than the cosy season? We don’t think so.

To inspire your autumn and winter nightwear (and give you plenty of inspiration for Christmas gifts to sew), we’ve put together 12 of our all-time favourite pyjamas sewing patterns. Grab a cuppa and snuggle up – this is going to be a good one.

A Quick Note of Best Fabrics for Sewing Pyjamas

Before sewing your PJ patterns, you’ll need a fabric that’s good enough for your pyjamas. Luckily, that’s where the Good Fabric team shine.

We have a few suggestions that are super soft and comfy, making them ideal for loungewear.

  • Double gauze – Maximum style, minimal maintenance. Our 100% cotton Double Gauze fabric is breathable, light, and undeniably chic.
  • Waffle – Everybody needs a little Waffle fabric in their life. This is a staple for dressing gowns and PJs, bringing soft texture into your nighttime wardrobe.
  • Bamboo: If you’d like something a little stretchier for your pyjama sewing patterns, we recommend breathable, moisture-wicking Bamboo jersey fabric. It’s not too hot, not too cold – it’s just right.
  • Linen: Prefer a fabric with some weight? Opt for a Linen fabric that’s a little heavier but still lets your skin breathe.

Remember, too, that all of our fabrics come with at least one or two eco-credentials , so they’ll fit right into your sustainable fabric stash.
