Fabric requirements
Size One
- Recommended Width: 135cm – 155cm / 53 – 61 inches
- Yardage required: 90cm / 35 1/2 inches (approx 1 yard)
Size Two
- Recommended Width: 135cm – 155cm / 53 – 61 inches
- Yardage required: 100cm / 39 1/2 inches (approx 1.1 yard)
Size range
This is a ‘one size’ pattern which comes in two size ranges. Due to the zero waste nature of this pattern some design details may change between sizes
- Size 1 (EU 36 – 44)
- Size 2 (EU 46 – 52)
Supplies you'll need
- 3 buttons (depending on your chosen garment size) approx 20mm / 3/4 inch in size.
- It is also optional to use a lightweight fusing for the neck band, this is only recommended for very fine fabrics.

Sewing pattern description
This is an oversized cropped shirt sewing pattern using zero waste method by Birgitta Helmersson.
It has a dropped shoulder, neck band and button front closure. Length of bodice is easily adjustable to your preference. The width of the garment is variable depending on the fabric width you use.
Comes with 2 simple hack options.
Method: This zero waste shirt sewing pattern is a downloadable PDF Instruction booklet. All Birgitta Helmersson sewing patterns are designed to be drawn directly onto your fabric by using small templates which you can make yourself, or print easily on a home printer. You draw your garment pieces directly onto your fabric by following the step by step instructions. Pieces are broken up into simple blocks which can be modified easily to change lengths, add/remove different design elements and accommodate changing fabric widths.
Fabric recommendations: Ideal in a woven linen or cotton with a weight of approx 150-200gsm.
