Econyl is regenerated nylon fiber made entirely from old, discarded carpets and fishnets, which otherwise would have ended up in landfill. It is a brainchild of Italian nylon manufacturer Aquafil.
Light Econyl Swim & Sports Lycra Fabric in Blackcurrant
Perfectly delicious shade of purple Blackcurrant is the latest 2024 addition to our recycled Econyl sports lycra fabric range.
Econyl fabric in Light is our lighter version of nylon fabric. If you are sewing swimwear with this stretchy fabric we would recommend either lining it with our econyl nylon lining or doubling up on the main fabric to give you all the support and coverage.

If you are sewing leggings or any other sportswear, you dont need to worry about lining, as this colour is very dark, opaque and squatproof.

Fabric description
Blackcurrant purple Econyl fabric is ideal sports lycra fabric for sewing swimwear, sportswear, dancewear and gymnastics costumes.
The fabric is made from regenerated nylon fiber, it is chlorine resistant, sun cream and oil resistant as well as protects from UV.
The fabric retains its shape and most importantly is 100% squat proof as it is dyed through.
