Fabric requirements
Recommended fabric width and quantity required:

110cm – 115cm: 280cm

120cm – 150cm: 230cm
Please note: this sewing pattern requires a considerable amount of bias binding for the edges and ties. If you’d like your binding to match the main fabric, allow for some additional fabric beyond the main requirement to cut your own binding strips.
Size range
This is a one-size garment, with the final fit determined by the fabric width used. Two cutting plans are included to accommodate both narrow and wide fabric widths.
Choose the cutting plan based on the fabric width you are working with:

Cutting Plan A is suitable for narrower fabric widths of 110–115cm. This layout accommodates a bust circumference of up to 115cm.

Cutting Plan B is suitable for wider fabric widths of 120–150cm.
Supplies you'll need
This dress requires bias binding strips for the neckline and ties. You can either purchase pre-made binding by the metre in a lightweight contrast fabric, or, if you’d prefer it to match the main fabric, allow for extra fabric to cut your own.
The total length of bias binding needed is:

Neckline binding: 4cm wide x 250cm long

Sewing pattern description
Birgitta Helmersson has created a lovely variation of their popular Zero Waste Gathered Dress sewing pattern – the Bow Hack.
This version features a bound neckline and centre front edges, finished with delicate ties. The skirt includes side pockets and is gathered at the waist. The sleeves are gently gathered at the hem, with a small split and ties to fasten.
Please note: You’ll need the original Zero Waste Gathered Dress sewing pattern to complete this hack. It’s sold separately.

Fabric recommendations
Best suited to woven linen or cotton with a weight of around 150–200gsm and a fabric width between 110–150cm.
