Perfect for sewing relaxed PJs, floaty tops or easy-to-wear spring dresses, this gingham fabric has a delicate 2.7mm check that adds just the right touch of detail.
It’s yarn-dyed too, so the pattern shows on both sides, lovely for finishes, just be sure to mark your sides if you’re new to sewing!

Fabric description
Mauve gingham cotton poplin fabric is is our 2025 addition to spring summer range.
This shade has a muted, soft purple tone, great for sewing comfy pyjamas, breezy summer tops and light spring dresses.
With a small check pattern measuring 2.7mm x 2.7mm, this fabric offers a subtle, traditional look. It’s yarn-dyed, so the gingham design runs through both sides. This can be a lovely detail, though we recommend beginners mark the right and wrong sides to keep things simple.
Cotton poplin is a brilliant option for those just starting out – it’s stable, easy to handle, and usually doesn’t need much pinning.
