Oeko-Tex 100 standard is our very minimum must have requirement for fabrics and haberdashery that are stocked at Good Fabric store.
Essentially, anything with chemicals that might be harmful, can be tested against this standard. The standard itself ensures that any chemicals used in the product are within the legal and safe limit.
The focus of this standard is on the end user, in our case, the sewist. When buying Oeko-Tex fabric you can rest assure that your fabrics wont bleed colours, your hands wont turn blue from fabric and of course, you wont be exposed to anything that can mess with your health.
It might not be the sexiest of the certifications, but an important one none the less.
