Tencel fabrics are know for its softness, long lasting comfort and being gentle on the skin.
You may have heard of Closed Loop manufacturing, but what exactly is it? In simple terms, any fabric manufacturing requires water and solvents. The water used to make this eco fabric is processed, cleaned and re-used, again again and again, like a closed loop. Get it? 😉
So what does it mean to you?
Well, first and foremost Tencel fibers have fantastic colour retention, so your #memade outfits will not fade over time.
Tencel fabrics have botanical origins, Lyocell is made from Eucalyptus wood pulp and Modal is made from Beech Wood. Tencel fabric can biodegrade and compost, both in home and industrial conditions, so although we really hope you wont throw away your clothes, but should they disappear from your closet, in the right environment they will revert back to nature.
In addition, fibers are highly absorbent, even more than cotton. The garments made from Tencel, will keep you cool and dry, which makes it perfect fabric to sew base layers, underwear and pjs. Check out our blog about sewing a perfect t-shirt.
