12 Swimwear Sewing Patterns to Sew in 2024

by Polina K

Whether you’re heading abroad or hoping for some good old British sunshine, it’s always smart to keep a collection of go-to swimwear in your wardrobe. But, with so many patterns to choose from, how do you pick your poolside look?

Luckily for all of us, the Good Fabric team has been kept busy finding the best swimsuit sewing patterns so that you don’t have to work up a sweat. From stylish bikinis to sporty one-pieces and everything in between, here are our favourite looks for the upcoming sunny season. Enjoy!

A Quick Note on Swimwear Fabric

Before diving into our top picks for your summer swimwear, we couldn’t not mention our go-to fave swimwear fabric, Econyl Nylon Lycra. We stock this super stretchy, sporty material in Standard, Light, and Swimwear Lining, and we highly recommend Econyl Light for your next swimsuit project.

This is THE best swimwear fabric of all time – hands down. With in-built UV protection and a huge choice of colours to pick from it’s the ultimate GOAT of seaside style. It’s also oil and sunscreen-resistant so you can wave goodbye to pesky stains.

Most swimsuit sewing patterns will also need a lining, and the handy Econyl Swimwear Lining fabric is a great choice to keep in your haberdashery. Or, if you’re looking for some extra support, use Econyl as main and lining for a double-whammy support.
